Holidays in the Luberon Valley

In the heart of Provence, the varied landscapes between Avignon and Apt are harmoniously framed by two mountain ranges that form the Luberon Valley. Here, the scents of wild herbs rise from dusty scrubland, white rocks stand out against green forested slopes, bright ochres shimmer against blue skies – the Luberon Valley is a haven of natural beauty, legendary art de vivre and villages famed throughout the world for their charm.

Precariously perched on clifftops or huddled in the plains, the Luberon’s characteristic dry-stone villages are one of the region’s most appealing features.

Brief history of La Tour d'Aigues

The village of La Tour d'Aigues is situated in the Aigues region in the southern Luberon.

This delightful destination has many charms, not least the grand Renaissance-style  château which rises spectacularly above the village in the Provençal sunlight.

The property, which overlooks the Eze plain, has a long and fascinating history:

The narrow streets of the centre are lined with fine 17th and 18th century mansions and town houses, a former mediaeval priory, several fountains and a church rich in historic significance.

Agriculture has always played an important part in the region, based mainly around fruit and vegetables, vineyards and AOC “Côtes du Luberon” wines.
